How We Use Our Funds

We respect the right of our donors to know how their money is being spent to further the AGAPE mission. Because of our commitment to transparency with our donors, AGAPE has been given a GuideStar Exchange Silver Participant award. AGAPE receives funding from a variety of sources: corporate contributions, foundation grants, and individual donors. Because AGAPE does not apply for State and Federal public funding, we rely on support from our local community, making your contributions critical to the success of AGAPE and its mission to break the cycle of poverty.

AGAPE is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization registered with the Internal Revenue Service and Department of the Treasury. Therefore, your donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the IRS tax laws. As a donor, you receive an acknowledgement that includes a confirmation of your donation for your tax records.

According to the BBB Wise Giving Alliance, nonprofit organizations should spend at least 65 percent of their total expenses on program activities, with remaining funds going to administrative and fundraising expenses. AGAPE continues to meet and vastly exceed these minimum standards with 96 percent of our total annual expenses going directly to programs serving Columbia and Montour county residents.
